Osman BALCI was born in Erdemli/Mersin. He finished the Erdemli High School. He has graduated from the Gazi University Medical Faculty, in Ankara. He continued his medical education at the Meram Medical Faculty, Selcuk University, as a trainee in Obstetrics and Gynecology Department between years 2000 and 2004 in Konya. In 2004, he became a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He became an Assist. Prof. in 2006 and an Associate Professor  in June 2011 and Professor in 2016.

He still works as his own Private Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.

With his 20 years of experience, he has performed numerous closed (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) and open surgeries, including cancer, followed by countless pregnant women, numerous amniocentesis, CVS, cesarean and normal delivery, he has applied numerous ivf and iui treatments, and worked in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

He has got alot of international and national publications.

An article published in 2010 was selected by the FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) and the best research article in the world. He is the winner of John J. Sciarra IJGO Prize Paper for 2010.  "Induction of labor with vaginal misoprostol plus oxytocin versus oxytocin alone, published in the IJGO, is the winner of the John J. Sciarra IJGO Prize Paper Award for 2010."

Also, he is the winner of the most number of publication awards in Assistant Professor of Meram Medicine Faculty of Selcuk University for 2010.

He has published his own technique entitled "Balci technique for suspending vaginal vault at vaginal hysterectomy with reduced risk of vaginal vault prolapse. J Obstet Gynaecol Res. 2011;37(7):762-9."

He also developed 4 new surgical techniques, one of which was his own, and published it in international journals.

We have moved to the World Medical Literature with a new surgery method that we did for the first time in the world, known as "Imperfore hymen". He published the method in one of the world's most respected journals. The treatment of 65 women with imperforate hymen by a central incision and application of Foley catheter. BJOG. 2007; 114 (11): 1376-9.

It has published the "Vaginal Burch" surgery, which is a new technique and related to urinary incontinence of women, in one of the most respected journals in the world and has passed into the World Medical Literature as a new technique.

Transvaginal Burch operation for stress urinary incontinence: 5-year results. BJOG. 2008; 115 (13): 1709-12.

He has also published laparoscopy surgery in one of the world's most respected journals from the surgery of one ancillary trocar in ovarian cysts and has passed to the World Medical Literature as a new technique.

He has been found in University of Michigan, School of Medicine, Department Of Obstetrics and Gynecology, to increase his knowledge and experience in the United States in 2013. He was invited by Prof. Dr. Timothy Robert B. Johnson who chair of the Department Of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Michigan Medical School. He studies in the fields of endoscopic and rorbotic surgery, in vitro fertiization, oncology, urogynecology and perinatology.

He is a member of Turkish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Turkish Society of Reproductive Medicine, Turkish Society of Gynecological Endoscopy and Turkish Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
